In a move aimed at reorganizing its technical staff, the administrative board of Al-Shorta Sports Club announced on Thursday the appointment of coach Hussein Abdul-Wahed to lead the first football team, succeeding Tunisian tactician Sami Trabelsi following a mutual agreement to terminate their contractual partnership. Trabelsi and his assistant staff departed following amicable discussions that brought their managerial tenure to an end. The club’s board extended its sincere appreciation to the Tunisian manager and his staff for their dedicated efforts during their tenure, wishing them success in their future endeavors. Abdul-Wahed is scheduled to immediately supervise team training ahead of the upcoming clash against Al-Karkh next Sunday, within the tenth round of the Iraq Stars League. Al-Shorta currently occupies fifth place in the standings with 16 points following the conclusion of the ninth round.
