Al-Zaidi: Iraq Aims to Deepen Economic Openness with Italy and European Union

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi affirmed on Sunday that Iraq looks forward to expanding economic cooperation with Italy and all European Union countries. This came during his reception of the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Iraq, Niccolò Fontana, in Baghdad, where bilateral relations between the two countries were reviewed and ways to develop partnership in various fields were discussed. Al-Zaidi clarified that Iraq seeks to benefit from the advanced technological level of Italian companies, especially in the energy, agriculture, and industry sectors, reiterating his invitation to these companies to actively contribute to the comprehensive development movement witnessed by the country. For his part, Ambassador Fontana affirmed his country's keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Iraq across all areas of joint work, serving the mutual interests of the two friendly countries and achieving their aspirations.
