As part of preparations for upcoming fixtures, the Iraq Football Association revealed today, Monday, the details of the international friendly tournament system to be hosted by the city of Basra. The competitions will kick off from the ninth to the seventeenth of next November, with the participation of the national teams of Iraq, Lebanon, Iran, and Palestine, providing the participating squads with an intensive preparation program to assess player readiness and gain valuable experience. The Iraqi national team is scheduled to open its campaign by facing its Lebanese counterpart, while the Iranian team will meet the Palestinian counterpart in the semi-finals. According to the adopted system, the winners of the semi-final matches will advance to the final to compete for the title, whereas the losers will meet to determine the third and fourth places. This mechanism ensures that every team plays two matches during the tournament.
