An oil tanker, carrying two million barrels of Iraqi fuel oil, was attacked in Iraqi territorial waters on Wednesday. Two Iraqi port officials confirmed that the Panama-flagged tanker was struck by a drone while within the country's maritime boundaries. Following the incident, Iraqi rescue boats successfully extinguished a fire that had erupted aboard the tanker, identified as the "New Andros".
