In an ongoing effort to reduce tensions and bolster regional security, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty and his Pakistani counterpart, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, underscored the critical importance of resuming the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This call pertains to the agreement signed between America and Iran on June 18, 2026, aimed at containing current escalation and reaching a comprehensive, sustainable settlement that would firmly establish security and stability in the region. This affirmation emerged during a telephone conversation held between the two ministers last Saturday, wherein they exchanged assessments regarding several vital regional files. The two sides discussed efforts geared towards de-escalation and restoring calm, issuing strong warnings against the serious repercussions of an expanding conflict across the entire region. The ministers further agreed on the necessity of continuing close consultation and coordination in the upcoming phase. This collaboration encompasses both bilateral levels and within the framework of the Quadrilateral Regional Parties mechanism, which includes Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, to support joint endeavors aimed at enhancing regional security and stability.
