Egypt Revises Entry Requirements for Citizens of Three Central Asian Countries

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced new regulations governing the entry of citizens from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan, effective from November 1, 2026. These regulations include the cancellation of previous entry facilitation measures for nationals of these countries, making it mandatory to obtain a prior entry visa. New conditions require travelers aged between 16 and 40 to be accompanied by a family member such as a father, mother, spouse, or children. Additionally, visitors from these countries must carry specified cash amounts upon arrival in Egypt, with a requirement of $3,000 per individual and $5,000 per family. The new procedures also mandate the registration of travelers' phone numbers, whether issued in their home countries or Egypt, with the tourism companies organizing their trips. These companies are required to prepare specific tour programs for incoming groups, confiscate passports upon arrival, and return them upon departure. Tourism companies must also promptly report any individual who fails to depart according to the approved itinerary. Regarding departure procedures, the General Directorate of Passports, Immigration, and Nationality documents accompanying family members with the head of the family's arrival stamp, obliging him to accompany all family members when leaving the country. The instructions prohibit changing the purpose of the visit after entry under a tourist visa, disallowing any modifications to the visa type during the stay. It is noted that the regulations for citizens of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan remain unchanged. These measures are part of the framework to regulate the entry of nationals from the three countries into Egyptian territory, aiming to enhance oversight and control over incoming tourists from these nations.
