Finance Minister Faleh Sari announced on Thursday that the ministry is adopting reform paths aimed at supporting non-oil revenues. During his meeting with the World Bank representative in Iraq, Emmanuel Salinas Munoz, the Minister affirmed the ministry's commitment to implementing financial and economic reform programs, aligning with government priorities and enhancing public resource management efficiency. Sari explained that the ministry is determined to adopt reform trajectories in the coming phase, focusing on developing the financial and banking environment, and expanding electronic system application in tax and customs sectors. These steps aim to support non-oil revenues and streamline procedures, contributing to improved institutional performance and stimulating economic activity. A ministry statement indicated both sides discussed mechanisms for enhancing technical and institutional cooperation with the World Bank, to support development and infrastructure projects, empower the private sector, and leverage international expertise in implementing reforms. For his part, Salinas Munoz affirmed the World Bank's continued support for the Iraqi government's reform programs, stressing that this support fosters economic development and enhances the efficiency of financial institutions in the country.
