French Ambassador congratulates Zaidi government gaining confidence confirms Paris support Iraq development

The French Ambassador in Baghdad, Patrick Durel, congratulated today, Friday, Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi on his government gaining the confidence of the parliament.

The Ambassador said in a post: "I congratulate Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi and the Iraqi government on obtaining the confidence of the House of Representatives."

He added: "This positive step should allow for reforms and development in the country to serve the Iraqi people."

He indicated that "France remains by Iraq's side, with full respect for its sovereignty."
