Gold Prices Witness Rise in Baghdad Markets

Baghdad's local markets observed an increase in the prices of both Iraqi and foreign gold across various karats this Saturday. This surge coincided with a rise in the Iraqi Dinar's exchange rate against foreign currencies during the morning trading sessions at the week's outset, directly influenced by market dynamics and currency fluctuations. In wholesale markets, particularly on Al-Nahr Street, the selling price for one mithqal (a traditional unit of weight) of 21-carat Gulf, Turkish, and European gold reached 985,000 Iraqi Dinars, with a buying price of 981,000 Dinars. This marks an ascent from the 967,000 Dinars per mithqal recorded last Thursday. For 21-carat Iraqi gold, the selling price for one mithqal was 955,000 Dinars, and the buying price stood at 951,000 Dinars. Moving to retail jewelry stores, the selling price for a mithqal of 21-carat Gulf gold varied between 985,000 and 995,000 Dinars. Concurrently, the selling price for a mithqal of 21-carat Iraqi gold was noted to be within the range of 955,000 to 965,000 Dinars.
