Data from the London Stock Exchange Group and Kpler indicated that an Iraqi oil tanker passed through the Strait of Hormuz near Iran.
This came a day after Tehran announced Iraq’s exemption from restrictions on the vital waterway.
Kpler reported that the vessel “Ocean Thunder” carried around one million barrels of Basra Heavy crude loaded on March 2, with delivery expected in Malaysia in mid-April.
Iran had closed the strait, which handles about one-fifth of global oil and LNG flows, after war erupted in late February.
It later allowed ships not linked to the U.S. or Israel to pass.
Recently, three Omani-operated tankers, a French container ship, and a Japanese gas carrier crossed the strait.
