The Iraqi Ministry of Oil engaged in extensive discussions with the Turkish side to explore pathways for expanding crude export capacities and enhancing bilateral cooperation across energy sectors. Oil Minister Muhammad Khudair Al-Abbadi confirmed on Saturday that official talks were held with the Turkish Energy Minister regarding the augmentation of export flows through the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline, describing the meeting as remarkably productive. The minister stated that discussions prioritized finalizing the draft bilateral agreement regulating crude exports via Ceyhan, alongside opening avenues for Turkish firms to participate actively in Iraqi oil and gas ventures. He highlighted that involving qualified Turkish companies represents a vital objective for Baghdad, aiding the attraction of global expertise to optimize hydrocarbon resource development. Operationally, both parties agreed to establish joint technical committees: the first tasked with oilfield development and investments, while the second focuses on upgrading energy infrastructure and fostering direct partnerships between companies. Al-Abbadi expressed confidence that these agreements will advance smoothly, aligning with government strategies and ministry targets.
