Colombian football star James Rodríguez returns to his home country, with Atlético Nacional announcing his free transfer signing. This marks Rodríguez's first Colombian League appearance since his early departure seventeen years ago. Rodríguez, 35, signed with Atlético Nacional until June 30, 2027, following his recent tenure with Minnesota United FC. This is his 14th club experience, playing for teams in 12 countries. His career abroad began in 2008 at age sixteen, joining Argentina's Banfield. After Banfield, James moved to Europe, representing Porto and Monaco. He gained global attention with his exceptional 2014 FIFA World Cup performance in Brazil, a pivotal career moment. James scored 6 goals in the World Cup, becoming its top scorer, notably his famous strike against Uruguay. This earned him a 75 million euro transfer to Real Madrid.
