The Kurdistan Region's Anti-Terrorism Apparatus confirmed on Sunday that the two explosions heard within Erbil Governorate originated from military training exercises and security activity. This clarification aimed to dispel any concerns regarding the nature of the loud sounds. In a statement issued by the apparatus, it clarified that "the sounds of the two explosions heard today, Sunday, September 20, within Erbil Governorate, were a result of routine military training and security operations." The apparatus reassured residents that "the explosions do not warrant concern," emphasizing that "the security situation in the governorate is entirely stable and there is nothing to cause apprehension."
