The sports and legal communities are closely following a lawsuit filed against Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egyptian national team and player for Turkish club Trabzonspor. This case has progressed to a stage requiring his personal court appearance to take a decisive oath. The New Cairo Court is scheduled today to hear the initial sessions of this suit, brought by a lawyer seeking financial fees for alleged legal and administrative work performed for the player. During his radio program, media personality Ahmed Shobair reacted with surprise to this development. He clarified that the court has set today's session for Mohamed Salah to appear in person to administer the "decisive oath." This oath involves the player denying the former lawyer's claims of services rendered or any outstanding financial obligations owed by Salah. The court has stated that if Mohamed Salah fails to attend or refuses to take the oath without an acceptable excuse, it will be deemed a default, triggering the legally stipulated consequences. The lawsuit's specifics trace back to September 2025, with the lawyer asserting possession of a general power of attorney from Mohamed Salah since 2012, and demanding financial compensation for legal and administrative services he claims to have executed for the player. Nevertheless, Shobair underscored his intimate understanding of Salah's character, portraying him as well-adjusted, poised, and disciplined. He stressed that Salah's philanthropic actions far surpass the lawyer's demands. Shobair also implied that some individuals might pursue notoriety through such legal actions. He concluded by noting the lawyer's reference to a 14-year-old power of attorney, adding that other legal experts confirmed Salah's ability to delegate representation for the session due to his ongoing commitments with his team in the Turkish League.
