The Ministry of Agriculture announced significant facilitation measures for the private sector to support poultry projects and increase table egg production in Iraq. The ministry stated that local egg production reaches approximately 6 billion eggs annually, while the country requires about 9 billion eggs to achieve self-sufficiency. The ministry's spokesperson, Qusay Al-Hattab, highlighted the presence of large poultry production projects in several provinces including Diwaniyah, Anbar, and Karbala, as well as projects in the Hussainiya and Abbasid shrines, along with other projects distributed across the country. Al-Hattab confirmed that the ministry is working to support the private sector by facilitating the import of feed, renewing project licenses, and simplifying administrative procedures. He also noted ongoing coordination with project owners to boost local production, enhance food security, and ensure market balance.
