Ministry of Interior Warns of AI Misuse Risks for Indecent Content Creation

The Ministry of Interior issued a warning on Saturday against exploiting artificial intelligence technologies. The Ministry cautioned against producing indecent video clips or content featuring words and insinuations that offend public values and Iraqi society's culture. This alert comes as part of the Ministry's efforts to monitor and counter offensive digital content. In an official statement, the Ministry reported that its "Low Content Committee," responsible for monitoring such phenomena, has observed ill-intentioned individuals exploiting AI to create indecent video content, or material containing explicit words and suggestions that contravene the authentic culture and ethics of Iraqi society. The Interior Ministry stressed that "the law will be vigilant against these individuals, and their penalties will be severe, in coordination with the Iraqi judiciary." Citizens are urged to cooperate with security agencies and report accounts and content that offend public values. The Ministry also noted that confidential reports can be submitted via the "Balligh" platform on the "Ain Al-Iraq" website, emphasizing the importance of this mechanism for maintaining social peace and public decency.
