The Ministry of Trade is moving to expand its initiative for selling construction materials in installments, aiming to include all its branches across the country. This expansion was inaugurated recently with the opening of a new branch in Salah al-Din Governorate. Areej Al-Jumaili, Director General of the Public Company for Trading Construction Materials at the Ministry, clarified that the initiative launched in the first half of 2026, initially limited to citizens and employees of the Baghdad branch. Al-Jumaili indicated that the Ministry's plan now aims to generalize the initiative to cover all its branches, with the Salah al-Din branch serving as a prelude to sequential openings in other governorates. Concurrently, the company is studying with a specialized Chinese firm the possibility of providing citizens with solar energy systems under the initiative, starting with the Baghdad and Salah al-Din branches. This direction emphasizes supporting clean and sustainable energy sources.
