As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the infrastructure of the national energy sector and develop its operational capabilities, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani affirmed on Saturday that the ministry is working diligently, in full coordination with the federal government, to secure the necessary financial allocations to purchase oil tankers for the Iraqi Oil Tankers Company. He explained that this step aims to develop the company and enable it to carry out crude oil transportation operations more effectively. He added that owning a fleet of oil tankers would directly support export operations, achieve the desired economic feasibility, and maximize financial revenues.
