The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced today, Sunday, the key provisions of the recently approved long-term leave law. The committee chairman, Adi Awad, explained that the law grants state employees the right to take a leave of five years. He added that the committee proposed to the members of parliament that the leave be granted with either full nominal salary or half of it, leaving the final decision to the parliament members. He also indicated that the law permits state employees to work in the private sector during their leave period. Furthermore, it was proposed to include contract 315 within the provisions of the long-term leave, thereby expanding the scope of beneficiaries under this law.
