Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi has issued a directive declaring that residential land plots under the 'Watan' initiative will be completely free of charge. This initiative aims to provide one million residential plots equipped with integrated infrastructure, with the goal of securing decent housing for Iraqi families whose members, across the entire family, do not own a residential unit or other property. According to a statement from the Prime Minister's office, this affirmation of free land ensures comprehensive coverage for all eligible beneficiaries. An electronic registration link for these plots is scheduled to be launched in October. As an initial phase, over 216,000 residential land plots have been prepared, with their locations identified across 15 governorates. Infrastructure development for these lands will commence through the gratuitous contributions of donating investors. Continuous work is underway, day and night, by specialized committees under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister's office, to complete this project and achieve the target of providing one million residential land plots.
