The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Thursday the thwarting of a terrorist plot to target military sites in Anbar Governorate. In a statement, the PMF reported that a force from the 4th Regiment's Emergency Faction, under the 55th Brigade, conducted a security and inspection duty in its area of responsibility in Anbar. This duty encompassed desert regions with difficult terrain south of the international highway. The PMF added that during the operation, relying on war remnants detection devices and intelligence information, mortar shells and their accessories were found. These materials were prepared for use against barracks and military positions. The PMF indicated that competent authorities handled the seized items and implemented the necessary standard procedures according to approved practices and instructions.
