President Nizar Amedi affirmed Monday that justice remains incomplete until Yazidis fully restore their rights. Marking the twelfth anniversary of the Yazidi genocide, Amedi termed the crime among Iraq's most heinous. Daesh terrorism sought to eradicate Yazidi existence via killing, enslavement, displacement, and destruction, labeling it "a stain on humanity's conscience." He added Yazidis demonstrated "the will to live is stronger than terrorism, enduring pain and upholding their land, identity, and right to a dignified life." Amedi noted the Yazidi file has been a presidential priority since he assumed office, stressing it's a national and moral entitlement for Iraq's dignity, not solely one group's. He called for "courageous decisions and practical steps to end over a decade of suffering." He emphasized goals: return of displaced, revealing abducted's fate, rebuilding Sinjar and damaged areas, victim compensation, and providing safe, dignified lives. Amedi stressed the tragedy's decade-long impact is unacceptable, reaffirming justice demands Yazidis' full rights.
