Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi affirmed on Tuesday that establishing the Energy City project will generate broad employment opportunities and attract significant local and foreign investments. This statement followed his meeting with MP Faleh Hassan Al-Khazali, head of the "Muntasiroun" parliamentary bloc, and its members. Their discussions addressed various citizen-focused issues, including services, living conditions, economic, and environmental matters, alongside national files. Al-Zaidi emphasized the government's economic vision to revitalize development sectors, simultaneously preparing a performance-based budget, and confronting national challenges like combating corruption and fortifying institutional work. He detailed the government's strategy for enhanced oil wealth utilization through increased production and developing energy-related industries, aiming for a gradual transition from a rentier economy. The Prime Minister urged Members of Parliament to support governmental efforts by adopting the performance-based budget, expected to drive fundamental economic transformation, boost spending efficiency, and align resources with developmental objectives. For his part, MP Faleh Al-Khazali stressed the importance of cooperation between legislative and executive authorities, expressing his bloc's full backing for government policies against corruption and for economic and developmental reforms. He noted his bloc's follow-up on foreign labor regulation and corruption cases, affirming continuous oversight and legislative action to advance reform.
