The Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq recently participated in the 30th meeting of the heads of judicial inspection bodies in Arab countries, held in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman. The Council was represented by the Head of the Judicial Supervision Authority, Judge Laith Jabr. Attendees discussed key areas for developing judicial inspection work and enhancing its effectiveness. Prominent among these was establishing controls for the Arab Award for Judicial Inspection, for which Iraq's Judicial Supervision Authority presented specific proposals and criteria. Discussions also covered judge performance evaluation criteria, aiming to improve judicial work quality and reinforce principles of professionalism, independence, and impartiality. Furthermore, participants examined artificial intelligence's role in analyzing judicial judgment quality and explored modern technologies for developing inspection and evaluation processes. The meeting also addressed supporting judicial independence, evolving inspection mechanisms, and fostering expertise exchange among Arab judicial bodies to unify practices, thereby enhancing justice quality and elevating judicial performance across Arab nations.
