The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, on Wednesday, congratulated the Iraqi people on the occasion of the National Sovereignty Day, which falls on September 30th. Judge Zaidan affirmed in a statement he issued that this occasion is an "inspiring national station" in the journey of consolidating state sovereignty and national decision independence. He stressed that this historic day emphasizes commitment to respecting the constitution and the rule of law, which guarantees the protection of rights and freedoms, and safeguards the interests of both the state and society alike. He concluded his statement by praying to Almighty God to protect Iraq and its people, and to sustain security and stability. He also wished mercy and eternal life for the righteous martyrs, swift recovery for the wounded, and success for fighters of all branches, thanks to whose sacrifices this national victory was achieved.
