Real Madrid has announced the diagnosis of French forward Kylian Mbappé's left knee injury, sustained during his recent international duty. The club estimates his expected absence from play to be between 10 and 12 days, following medical examinations which revealed hyperextension in the posterior capsule of his left knee joint. The club confirmed that his condition will be continuously monitored throughout his recovery period. Mbappé suffered the injury during France's 1-0 victory over Turkey, a match where he scored the only goal in the 54th minute. The striker felt pain in his left knee, which he used as a pivot foot while striking the ball with his right, prompting his departure from the field in the 59th minute. Immediately after the injury, Mbappé left the national team camp and returned to Madrid, where he underwent additional examinations which ruled out a more serious injury, providing a measure of reassurance. Based on the estimated recovery time, Mbappé will miss France's upcoming three UEFA Nations League matches: against Belgium on September 28, Italy on October 2, and Belgium again on October 5. Should his rehabilitation proceed as planned, the French star might return to play for Real Madrid in their match against Villarreal on October 10 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. However, his final return date will depend entirely on the progression of his medical condition. Furthermore, Mbappé was not the only Real Madrid player to return injured from the international break. French defender Ibrahima Konaté also returned to Madrid with a lateral ligament injury in his right leg. The club did not specify Konaté's absence duration but indicated that he would undergo continuous medical monitoring.
