Report: Iraq Not Among Most Affected Despite Heavy Losses

Economic reports reveal increasing global pressure due to the ongoing war with Iran, driven by disruptions in energy supply.

The impact has affected G7 economies such as Germany, the UK, Italy, and Japan, along with emerging markets including India, Turkey, and Gulf states, and fragile economies like Egypt, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.

However, Iraq was not included among the most affected countries despite a sharp decline in oil production from 4.3 million to 1.3 million barrels per day, and exports dropping below 800,000 barrels per day.

The ongoing conflict since late February 2026 has disrupted shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, impacting global energy markets.
