Dhi Qar Governorate witnessed a significant security incident this Friday with the discovery of an unidentified hand grenade. The explosive device was placed in front of the residence of a member of the Dhi Qar Provincial Council, prompting immediate security response. Police in Nasiriyah district successfully seized the hand grenade outside the home of Sheikh Salem Al-Ismaili, the provincial council member. The reasons and motives behind this act are still unknown. Al-Ismaili has reportedly filed a formal complaint against the unidentified perpetrator, awaiting their identification.
