On Thursday, the National Security Service announced the execution of 1568 judicial arrest warrants during the "Shadow of Justice" security and intelligence operation. This extensive operation, covering Baghdad and all provinces, aligns with the service's strategy to enforce warrants and pursue those wanted by the judiciary, utilizing broad intelligence efforts to locate them. "Shadow of Justice" targeted individuals involved in diverse cases: 54 defendants in terrorism, 194 in drug offenses, 553 in extortion and threats, 195 in fraud and scams, and 54 promoting the banned Ba'ath Party. The operation proceeded under the direct supervision of the National Security Service Head, in coordination with specialized judges. It involved identifying wanted individuals' locations, tracking their movements, and executing judicial warrants per legal procedures. With its objectives met, the Service affirmed its continuous pursuit of wanted individuals, stressing that enforcing arrest warrants remains a core duty to refer them to the competent judiciary under law.
