Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, announced that his country is preparing to brief Iraq and Gulf states on the details of a new maritime route in the Strait of Hormuz. This announcement comes on the eve of a meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, in the Sultanate of Oman, where the new arrangements will be discussed. Araghchi stated: "We will inform Iraq and the Gulf countries tomorrow at the Oman meeting about the new maritime route in the Strait of Hormuz," adding that "the agenda of tomorrow's Monday meeting in the Sultanate of Oman focuses on the new maritime route in the Strait of Hormuz." He further added that "Iran's condition for reopening the Strait of Hormuz is the return of the United States to its commitments under the Islamabad memorandum."
