Zidan Iqbal, an Iraqi national team player, confirmed on Tuesday that the "Lions of Mesopotamia" gave their all, but the defeat against Saudi Arabia was unexpected. In statements to the official agency, Iqbal clarified that the team awaits determining the qualifier for the next round—either Iraq or Oman—given their equal points and yellow cards. He added that the squad exerted its utmost against the Saudi team, finding the loss surprising, as they had sought either a draw or a win to secure advancement.
