First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, confirmed Saturday that numerous brigades and regiments were established for electoral objectives. Speaking at the Eighth Baghdad Dialogue, Faihan explained that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) formed under exceptional circumstances, embodying an ideological, social, and legal character. He underscored the need for a law to regulate their structure. Faihan mentioned a sole point of contention that prevented the PMF law's passage in parliament, again noting the existence of military formations created for electoral purposes. He further asserted that an intra-Shiite conflict would not occur, as rational figures are preventing it, and attributed current tensions to exaggerated statements.
