During his hosting on "Qessati" podcast with media personality Mohamed Qais, Elawady compared his romantic experiences to two well-known car brands, which ignited intense discussions and debates among social media users. Elawady explained that in his artistic beginnings, he acquired a "Mitsubishi" car and was very happy, but now he owns a "Mercedes," noting this new experience reminds him of the feelings for his first car, without considering driving it again. The controversy surrounding Elawady's statements is divided into two main parts; the first relates to his method of describing human relationships and emotions as car brands. The second part centers on the prevailing belief that artist Yasmine Abdel Aziz is implicitly targeted, given she was his first wife during his artistic rise to fame. These statements coincide with intense speculation circulating about Elawady's romantic association with artist Yara Elsekary. Although he has not officially confirmed this relationship, he admitted he is currently experiencing a love story, preferring not to reveal the other party's name. He contented himself by affirming that "love is sugar and honey and makes a person sweeter." Yara Elsekary had previously stirred similar controversy during a seminar at the Arab Media Summit in Dubai, moderated by media personality Nishan. When asked about her relationship with Elawady, she affirmed that most successful duos in the art scene shared "genuine romantic relationships and feelings of love." Many considered this an indirect hint at her relationship, which prompted Nishan to comment: "Let's celebrate love and say congratulations," extending felicitations to the duo. It is worth noting that Elawady and artist Yasmine Abdel Aziz married in May 2020 and officially announced their separation in January 2024.
