Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi and State of Law Coalition head Nouri Al-Maliki on Saturday emphasized the urgent need to finalize the cabinet formation. This came as Al-Maliki hosted Al-Zaidi to discuss recent political and security developments, the challenges confronting Iraq's political process, and avenues for bolstering stability and safeguarding national interests. Both leaders underscored the importance of sustained political efforts to entrench stability and unify national stances on current issues and challenges. They also stressed empowering state institutions to ensure effective service delivery and realize citizen aspirations. The meeting highlighted the necessity of promptly completing the ministerial cabinet to ensure the government's full composition and enable state bodies to perform their duties efficiently. This, in turn, strengthens the government's capacity to manage political, security, and economic portfolios guided by consensus, partnership, and national responsibility. Al-Maliki further urged prioritizing national interest and extending essential political support to the government. He called for collaborative and coordinated action among various political factions to maintain Iraq's security, stability, and advance its political course.
