GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohammed Albudaiwi affirmed that Gulf states are committed to defending their sovereignty amid escalating tensions involving Iran.
He noted that recent attacks targeted civilian and vital facilities, describing them as a serious escalation and a breach of red lines.
He added that disruptions in maritime routes affect the global economy, not just the Gulf region.
Despite this, he confirmed that GCC countries still seek normal relations with Iran while safeguarding their strategic interests.
