The Badr Parliamentary Bloc in Baghdad on Thursday vehemently denied recent reports circulated by some media outlets and social media platforms regarding alleged internal divisions, asserting that the information is entirely baseless. This denial highlights the growing importance of maintaining political cohesion within legislative bodies. The official spokesperson for the bloc, MP Hamid Abbas Al-Musawi, stated in a press release that the Badr Parliamentary Bloc remains cohesive with all its members and deputies, unified in its stance. Al-Musawi affirmed the bloc's steadfast commitment to the principles and approach of the Badr Organization, led by Hadi Al-Amiri, emphasizing that this strengthens national unity and collective action. Al-Musawi added that the bloc operates in harmony and cooperation with various political blocs within the Council of Representatives and its committees, stemming from its responsibility to bolster the Council's legislative and oversight roles. He clarified that differences in viewpoints on managing parliamentary files are natural in parliamentary work and do not signify a split, but rather reflect members' dedication to improving performance. He called for shielding the Council of Representatives from political polarization that could disrupt its work and urged for an urgent resolution regarding the management of parliamentary committees, stressing the need to prevent their continued obstruction. Al-Musawi noted that current economic conditions and national entitlements demand an effective Council capable of efficiently fulfilling its oversight and legislative duties. The spokesperson also reaffirmed the bloc's commitment to supporting the government and state institutions in implementing their program, particularly in strategic files related to safeguarding security, national sovereignty, regulating weaponry, economic reform, and combating financial and administrative corruption. Finally, Al-Musawi called upon media outlets to exercise accuracy and professionalism, sourcing information from official channels, cautioning against leaks that aim to disrupt public opinion.
