Attention is focused today, Monday, on the British capital London, where the winner of the 2026 Ballon d'Or will be announced, amid a strong competition between French player Kylian Mbappé, Spaniard Lamine Yamal, and Englishman Harry Kane. Pascal Ferré, the former official in charge of the award, confirmed that winners have not been notified in advance of the voting results since 2024, indicating that all nominees will discover the winner's identity during the ceremony itself. The list of nominees includes some of the most prominent football stars such as Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Lionel Messi, and Erling Haaland. Dembélé won the award last year, while Messi holds the record for the most wins with eight Ballon d'Or trophies.
