In a step reflecting the depth of security partnership and responding to escalating regional tensions and increasing threats, the British Ministry of Defence revealed in an official statement issued on Tuesday that it is providing an additional defensive military support package to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to counter ongoing attacks launched by the Houthi movement. The ministry confirmed that the deployed Typhoon fighter jets will operate in a purely defensive role to protect the airspace and will not carry out any offensive strikes against the Houthis. In addition, London will provide an A400M military transport aircraft to assist in moving defensive equipment within Saudi Arabia, alongside British military advisors to support Saudi staff officers.
