Civil Defense Extinguishes Major Fuel Leak Fire in Dora, Baghdad, No Casualties

The Civil Defense Directorate in Baghdad announced on Wednesday that its teams successfully extinguished a major fire that erupted near the entrance to Al-Seha neighborhood on the Al-Doura highway. The fire was triggered by a leak of kerosene (KAZ) fuel adjacent to a gas station in the vicinity. The Directorate stated in an official announcement that the incident stemmed from the negligence of a fuel tanker driver, who failed to ensure the main valves were securely closed. This led to the petroleum material spilling over a wide area, extending towards the neighborhood's entrance ramp, consequently causing it to ignite. The incident resulted in material damage to a restaurant's facade and a minor part of the tanker. Six firefighting teams achieved full control over the flames and completely extinguished them, confirming no human casualties or injuries were recorded.
