The Green Iraq Observatory announced today, Saturday, the detection of contamination in water samples from six hospitals within the capital, Baghdad. These findings are based on an annual report issued by the Financial Control Bureau for 2025, which indicated contamination in water samples sent to the Central Health Laboratory, along with a failure to take necessary measures to mitigate these cases. The report identified Baghdad Teaching Hospital, Al-Shaheed Ghazi Al-Hariri Hospital, their affiliated hospitals and centers, and Al-Amal Hospital for Cancer Treatment, all within the Medical City Department, as affected sites. Furthermore, the report revealed contamination in Al-Zahraa (AS) Hospital for Gynecology and Pediatrics and Kamal Al-Samarraie Hospital for Fertility, Infertility Treatment, and IVF, both located within the Rusafa Baghdad Health Department.
