The Federal Integrity Commission announced on Friday the apprehension of the Director of the Investment Department at Tikrit Municipality in Salah al-Din Governorate. This measure follows his deliberate violation of official duties, aimed at achieving personal gain at the state's expense. The Commission clarified that the Salah al-Din investigation office staff successfully arrested the official. He is accused of promoting investment transactions to grant land plots via Musataha (long-term lease) contracts without obtaining necessary official approvals, a conduct that constitutes a clear violation of prevailing laws. The arrest operation was conducted based on a warrant issued by the investigating judge of Salah al-Din's court specializing in integrity cases. It resulted in the seizure of a collection of primary documents and records pertaining to the Tikrit Municipality from the accused's residence. Additionally, confiscated items included various sums of money in Iraqi Dinars and US Dollars, alongside a collection of gold jewelry. Concluding the initial procedures, the competent investigating judge has ordered the accused's detention under Article (331) of the Penal Code for further investigation.
