A building under construction in Baghdad's Al-Atifiya area, Karkh side, experienced a tragic roof collapse after midnight last Thursday during concrete pouring. The incident resulted in one worker's death and injuries to 12 others. The Directorate of Civil Defense announced Friday its field teams were immediately mobilized, successfully recovering the deceased worker's body and extracting the injured. First aid was administered on-site before their transfer to nearby hospitals for necessary medical treatment. An official investigation has since been launched to determine the collapse's causes and all surrounding circumstances.
