Federal Reserve Maintains Interest Rate Steady

The U.S. Federal Reserve decided to keep the main interest rates unchanged within the range of 3.75% to 4.00%, emphasizing the need to gather additional economic data to guide future monetary policy. This decision was made with a majority vote of 10 members, while two members, Lisa Cook and Beth Hammack, opposed it, supporting a 25 basis points increase. The statement noted that inflation remains elevated despite ongoing strong economic activity, with the U.S. economy continuing to expand steadily, supported by resilient domestic spending and sustained investment strength. It also mentioned that job gains have kept pace with labor force growth, unemployment rates remained stable, domestic spending stayed robust amid uncertainty, productivity growth was solid, and capital investment remained strong.
