The Meteorological Authority has forecast continued chances of rainfall across various regions in Iraq in the coming days. Light to moderate showers, sometimes accompanied by lightning and thunder, are expected in eastern areas, as well as in Basra, Nasiriyah, Salahuddin, Duhok, and Kirkuk provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in the cities of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Diyala, with flood waves anticipated to push in from the border with Iran, particularly affecting low-lying and sloped areas. During the daytime and evening of Sunday, light to moderate rain is expected to persist in eastern Iraq, along with limited areas in central cities including the capital, Basra, Duhok, northern Nineveh, and Kirkuk. Periods of heavy rain may occur in Sulaymaniyah, Diyala, Wasit, and northern Maysan. On Monday, stable weather conditions are expected with cold northwesterly winds, especially in the morning and at night, warranting necessary precautions.
