Government Affirms Commitment to Enacting Popular Mobilization Law

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi affirmed that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) institution receives significant government attention and care, indicating that the government will proceed with submitting the PMF law for its approval. This statement came during Al-Zaidi's reception today of Humam Ali Mahdi Al-Tamimi, head of the Badr parliamentary bloc, and its members. The meeting involved an in-depth discussion on the general conditions in the country, encompassing political, economic, and security aspects, along with a review of the government's efforts in implementing its reform and development programs. The Prime Minister underscored the critical importance of the legislative authority's role in combating corruption and pursuing those involved. He emphasized that the government's vision is centered on building a strong state anchored by a robust economy. Al-Zaidi called for finding radical and innovative solutions to current issues, cautioning against postponing them. He further clarified that the Popular Mobilization Forces are an integral part of the armed forces' formations and branches, and that Iraq is currently undergoing a comprehensive reconstruction phase after fulfilling its sovereignty defense requirements. For their part, the parliamentarians expressed their full and absolute support for the government in all its reform endeavors and measures, particularly concerning the fight against corruption and the regulation of weapons in accordance with constitutional frameworks.
