Within the framework of measures to support economic stability and protect citizens' purchasing power, Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi issued official directives on Thursday to postpone the collection of customs duties and taxes imposed on imported live meat, chicken, and eggs. This governmental procedure aims to ensure the provision of essential food supplies in local markets at affordable prices for all segments of society. This service-oriented decision comes against the backdrop of recent adjustments to the exchange rates of the Iraqi Dinar against the US Dollar, which were approved based on joint recommendations submitted by the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank during the regular meeting No. (544) for the year 2026, setting the final selling value of the dollar at 1520 Dinars.
