Within the framework of efforts aimed at consolidating pharmaceutical security and overcoming current financial challenges, the Iraqi Ministry of Health, in cooperation with reputable international pharmaceutical corporations, has secured critical medical shipments valued at a total of 101 million dollars, prior to opening official letters of credit by the ministry. This strategic milestone comes in implementation of the vision adopted by Minister of Health, Abdul Hussein Al-Mousawi, designed to ensure the uninterrupted availability of essential and specialized medications for citizens across the country. The concerted efforts and extensive meetings led by the minister with representatives of global manufacturing firms, alongside his recent discussions during his official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, successfully activated joint initiatives and enhanced pharmaceutical collaboration under exceptional financial conditions, thereby reinforcing health stability and expanding investment prospects within Iraq's medical market. The procured medical packages encompass crucial life-saving therapies that address pressing health requirements for broad segments of the population. These supplies feature specialized oncology drugs for cancer treatment, therapies for rare diseases, insulin for diabetic patients, various essential vaccines, ophthalmic medications, and critical blood clotting factors designated for individuals suffering from bleeding disorders. On the operational front, central warehouses of the Ministry of Health have already received portions of these shipments, while administrative and logistical arrangements are actively underway to complete the sequential delivery of the remaining allocations before the end of the current year. This collaborative step holds notable importance in formulating practical solutions that guarantee continuous medical provisioning, particularly for chronic, rare, and cancer patients, which reflects positively on partnerships with leading international manufacturers while alleviating substantial hardships and burdens from patients and their families.
