Increase in Processed Gas Volume at Al-Gharraf Oil Field to 37 Million Cubic Feet Daily

The Deputy Minister of Oil for Gas Affairs, Ezzat Saber Ismail, announced an increase in the volume of processed gas at the Al-Gharraf oil field, reaching 37 million standard cubic feet per day. Ismail explained that developing associated gas investment projects in the field is a significant step, noting that the operation of the new gas processing and compression system contributed to raising the total processed gas volume in the first phase of gas investment. He added that the project aims to enhance the investment of associated gas and direct it to support power plants, as well as reduce environmental impacts caused by gas flaring and maximize the benefit from national resources. He also praised the efforts of the national staff at the Dhi Qar Oil Company, their cooperation with Petronas and the secondary contractor Italy Flood Company, commending the role of engineering, technical, administrative teams, and supporting departments in completing the project. The ministry confirmed its ongoing support for gas investment projects and the development of necessary infrastructure for the second phase, aiming to increase the utilization rates of associated gas and support Iraq's energy sector. It is noteworthy that the associated gas processing and compression system was inaugurated at the second isolation station at the Al-Gharraf oil field with an operational capacity ranging between 15 and 22 million standard cubic feet per day, as part of the ministry's plans to enhance gas investment and reduce flaring.
