Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated on Saturday that Tehran has reviewed a message from U.S. Vice President James DeVance and discussed it in high-level meetings, considering Washington's attempt to open dialogue a positive step, while emphasizing that there are currently no plans for direct meetings with U.S. officials. Araqchi mentioned that an Iranian delegation has traveled to Doha, as Qatari and Pakistani mediators continue consultations regarding Iran's demands. He added that Tehran is studying proposals related to the nuclear file and has reached a suggestion to reduce the implementation period of the plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz from five days to two. He stressed that Iran's conditions include lifting sanctions, reducing U.S. military presence in the region, releasing frozen Iranian funds, restoring oil exemptions, recognizing the new navigational route in the Strait of Hormuz, and stopping conflicts on all fronts, including Lebanon. He confirmed that reopening the strait under Iran's terms paves the way for resuming negotiations with Washington and that the country is prepared for all possible scenarios.
