Mohammad Shariatmadari, the head of Iran's largest petrochemical holding group, announced on Thursday the recommissioning of approximately 89% of petrochemical units that had ceased operations. This resumption follows the halt of these units during the recent conflict involving Israel and the United States. Shariatmadari clarified that the affected facilities have returned to production after intensive reconstruction efforts, noting that some units are currently operating above their nominal capacity, while others continue their efforts to reach full production capacity. Iran had imposed a ban on petrochemical exports last April to secure supplies for the domestic market. This decision came after the disruption of the sector's production due to strikes that targeted vital utility companies supplying raw materials to the factories.
